Brrrrr.. it's cold!

Today was just another day in Covington, but we got a taste of the cold weather.  In my carport it was pleasantly cold, a brisk 30 degrees.  However, on the walk into work a huge wind came up and smacked the entire side of my body.  As I giddy-upped to get in the door faster, I had a vision of Jack Frost blowing his wind from up North straight into our parking lot.  And what about that poor Groundhog???  My son tells me he didn't see his shadow and it will be an early spring.  Yahoo!!!

The one exciting thing that did happen today is that I found sparkpeople.com.  I was on facebook the other day and saw a friend of a friend's photos from the Houston Marathon.  When I clicked on the album I started to see the photos and one of Les.  Well, it was unbelievable!  She was so thin and looked completely in shape in the healthiest of ways.  I was so happy for her!  I immediately sent her an email to tell her she looked beautiful and for any advice she can give me to complete my resolutions for this year.

I didn't hear back from her at all yesterday and wondered if she would take me seriously or just be like, "Why is Sarah trying to get in touch with me?"  Well, to my surprise she emailed me back a pretty lengthy email about her journey with weight loss and fitness over the past year.  I was so thankful!  I feel that she is exactly the inspiration I needed!  Someone that I actually know, who has lost 100 lbs through hard work and determination.  Se told me about smartpeople.com and how it helped her during her journey.  I immediately signed on, and started it up. 

Basically, it is a much more diverse social network based on fitness.  You can track calories, workouts, and join teams and challenges. I think this is just what I was looking for because weightwatchers just wasn't doing it for me anymore.  Les even told me Hi! once I got on there.  I was able to read all her blogs and her ups and downs and I got emotional for her reading some of her stuff. 

Today is the first day of my journey!  And I am so excited about it!  I just wanted to be sure that I wrote down what day it all started and i think I got it down on here!  Wish me luck!
